Alhaji Zaharadden Abubakar the chairman of Gwaram Local Government Area in Jigawa State, has declared a thirty-day term for all sex workers to leave the region.
Abubakar glared upon the exercises of commercial sex workers. He revealed this as he accepted a delegation from Sara community, a famous weekly market to his office, that he has a plan of tackling vice in the local government.
Consequently, he has ordered all the commercial sex workers functioning in the region to manifest names of their intended/suitors to the local government authority before the deadline.
Also, sex workers from other states will be sent back to the state, while wedding expenses for those from the region who are willing to give up the trade will be catered for by the local government.
He also instructed that all clubs and beer parlours in the region should be shut down immediately and violators will be arrested by the police.
