No Harry Kane Still Tottenham Hotspur stuns Manchester City in Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur amazed Manchester City, grinding a grubbing 1-0 win despite the absence of a London star club striker, linked to a move to the current champion of the Premier League.
The 28 years-old Kane was missing for the game from the Spurs team, but Tottenham did a “great job,” says Son Heung-Min, who scored the game for a surprise win in the second half.
The win was the perfect beginning for the new Spurs director Nuno Espirito Santo, while the fans of the club sang in the win: “You’re watching Harry Kane”
The results of Sunday also showed why City could want to sign Kane internationally.
Son told Sky Sports, “This was a tremendous show, and everybody has tried hard to pick up those three points.
‘Manchester City is the best team in the world today so we have been fighting for the three points, and at the beginning of the season it means a lot to us.’
The Spurs Manager was interviewed by Sky Sports following the match by answering: “Honestly, Harry Kane is one of the world’s top players. We’re incredibly fortunate to get him. He must prepare and assist the team.”
The “spursy” sobriety – a habit of flaccidity and surrender – has been acquired by Tottenham, but there is no “spursy” about it.
Two-two-year-old defender Japhet Tanganga characterizes the grit of the London club, which was dubbed the man of the game as he annualized the City threat to Raheem Sterling.
“We let them too much, we could not keep them under control, especially the basic thing that is always more complicated to lose the passes in certain places,” Pep Guardiola, City Manager, told the BBC. Son Heung-min scored the goal, “Football is goals, we couldn’t.” For a season it’s normal with little preparation. We lost our spirit but good. I’m not surprised anymore.
“For a season, it’s usually with little readiness. We lost our spirit but good. I’m more than surprised that we did a lot of wonderful stuff.” A lot of guys came to Euros too late, Covid, for a lot of stuff. Players return and they’re going to be better every week.” Guardiola’s team included Jack Grealish who made his premiere in the city following the $139 million transfer of England from Aston Villa earlier this month for the international premiership. “He was outstanding,” the BBC told Guardiola. “He played with a personality and created a chance. “We couldn’t win his debut for him, unfortunately… but he performed well… he doesn’t drop the ball…”
