A Louisiana father was shot dead in a shooting fight with a teenage boy, who sneaked into his house to meet his 14-year-old daughter.

According to the county coroner’s office, the girl’s father and homeowner, Desmon Hamilton, 34, died of multiple gunshot wounds after a confrontation with the teenage suspect who came to the man’s tent to see his minor daughter.
The suspect identified by police as 17-year-old Nicholas McCarter also got injured in the encounter and was taken to the hospital.
Reports gathered that the teenage suspect used a ladder to climb a window to access the house. A conflict then broke out after Hamilton found McCarter inside his house.
McDavid verified on Monday that the suspect was at Hamilton’s house to meet the victim’s 14-year-old daughter.
The authorities are still investigating the shooting to ascertain who shot first, as both of them were armed.
The suspect is expected to be booked for second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, and illegal possession of a stolen gun, once he is released from the hospital.
