The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has revealed that for a second time, former governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor-Kalu will be prosecuted.
This was announced by the chairman of the anti-graft commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa on Thursday, June 17 during a weekly briefing where he gave an update on his performance in office so far.
He promised that Kalu will be prosecuted ‘ again’.
If we recall that Kalu was set free by the Supreme Court in 2020 on technicalities after being convicted of stealing billions of Naira when he was Abia State Governor.
The chairman also stated that the commission will be filing over 800 fresh corruption cases, adding that they will around on public corruption and cybercrime.
