Buhari-must-go protest rocks Abuja on 61st Independence Day
Protesters rushed the Dantata Bridge on Abuja’s famous Airport Road early Friday, demanding the resignation of President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
The demonstration took place on the 61st anniversary of the country’s independence.
Protesters carrying big flags lit bonfires on the roadway.
However, as at the time of publishing this story, highly armed police officers had dispersed the protestors.
The protestors had barely gathered at the location to commence their demonstration when personnel from the Nigerian Police attacked the scene.
They shot tear gas canisters at them and gave them a hard pursuit.
However, it is unknown if anyone was apprehended at the time this complaint was filed.
