Anambra Loses N19.6billion During Any Sit-at-home Day – Governorship Candidate

Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, a former Central Bank Governor and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the upcoming gubernatorial elections in Anambra State, has said that the state loses N19.6 billion every day it is shut down.

Soludo revealed this during a larger meeting with the Anambra State Elders and Stakeholders Forum and the Anambra State Broadcast Media Stations Forum.

He urged those who were shedding blood in the state to reconsider, stating that such actions did not characterize the Anambra people.

“Anambra State’s economy loses an estimated N19.6 billion every time the state’s sit-at-home policy is imposed.
“Such deeds do not determine who we are. That is why we are pleading with those in charge to stop because we are causing ourselves harm,” Soludo added.

Professor Soludo, while urging Ndi Anambra to remain vigilant, lauded Governor Willie Obiano for his “great accomplishments.”

“Governor Willie Obiano has provided durable legacy projects to Ndi Anambra, including the Anambra International Airport, the International Convention Centre, Awka, and the Awka Stadium,” he continued.

He claimed the governor has done well despite supervising two recessions and the state dealing with shrinking federal funds.
