AirPods Tutorial: How to Connect Them to Your Laptop

If you’ve just bought your AirPods, you might be wondering how to connect them to your laptop, or to any other computer for that matter. Luckily, it’s incredibly easy! All you need to do is open up the Settings application on your Mac or PC, click on Bluetooth, and select the I next to the word AirPods listed in the left-hand corner of the window. Then click Connect on the dialogue box that pops up and voila! Your AirPods will be paired with your laptop in no time.

Step 1 – Enable Bluetooth

Enable Bluetooth on your computer by opening up your Control Panel and clicking on Hardware and Sound. Under Devices and Printers, click on Add a Device. This will open up a dialog box that you can use to find Bluetooth devices. Click on Wireless Device Not Present, select your AirPods from the list of devices that populates, and then click Next.

Step 2 – Open Preferences

To open your system preferences, click on your Apple Menu and select System Preferences. Alternatively, you can also access your system preferences by clicking on Apple located in your dock. On a Mac, it looks like an apple with a small gear symbol next to it. If you are using a Windows computer, then it will be located in the bottom left corner of your screen next to the Start and Help buttons. The name of my preference in System Preferences. You should see something similar when opening yours.

Step 3-Click on “Show All Devices”

This will list all of your Bluetooth devices. Select Xiaomi Mi from that list. Step 4 – On your laptop, select Add a Device. Windows users should click on Start and then select Settings > Devices > Add a Device.

MacOS users should click on Apple in their menu bar and then select System Preferences > Bluetooth. Step 5 – Now press and hold (or double-click) your AirPod case’s button until you see a blinking white light around it. Release that button when you see the white light, then wait for another moment or two while it tries to pair with your computer through its own signal strength.

Step 4 – Add the Device

To pair your AirPods with your laptop, you’ll need to download a program called Bonjour. It will give you access to all of your AirPod-compatible devices so that they can be connected directly. If you don’t have iTunes on your computer, don’t worry—the Bonjour program will also work if iTunes isn’t present. All of these steps assume that you have iTunes installed on your computer and that it works properly.

Step 5 – Pair with your AirPods

After you open up iTunes, connect your AirPods. All you have to do is connect them with each other first. Just make sure that both of them are in their little case and hold down on their tab for a few seconds until they start blinking and it will show up as Hands-Free on your iTunes menu bar. From there, open up iTunes and it should automatically pick up your AirPods.
